VISION
First of all we have a long way to go. Right now we must admit that we barely have a toehold on what I believe our church ought to be and what our church ought to be doing.
As far as our general services are concerned; we want a first class Christ honoring music program. We want to have a really sharp choir. Regardless of how many are in it we want their ministry to bless and to thrill the listener with the awesomeness of our Great and Mighty God.
We hope to have great special music. Solos, duets, mixed groups, quartets, men’s choral, etc.
We want to have a first class nursery with competent workers and a clean and loving atmosphere. We want Mom to feel her infant is in the best of hands.
We want a Sunday School Department with classes for each age group, taught at their own age level. That means two year old classes up to the Adult Class plus special classes as the need arises.
We want exciting Children’s churches for our elementary boys and girls. The right workers can have a wonderful; ministry serving in Children’s Church.
Someday we will have midweek services where the adults will have an in-depth Bible study, the Youth department will will provide specialized teaching for our young people, and the boys and girls will have an Awana type program that they will love.
Outreach Program We need to be dedicated to carrying out the Lord’s marching orders to His church. The mandate is clear, Go into all the world and make disciples (get people saved) baptize them, and teach them to observe everything Christ has commanded us to do.
Every house in Buckley and in the surrounding area ought to have a witness of Christ’s gospel presented to them. It is what we are commanded to do.
When the time is right we will have ongoing classes on how to win souls to Christ and then how to disciple those whom we have won. Our teen dept should have special Soul Winning classes and a weekly Youth Visitation program.
We want to provide our people with the tools they need to do the job. Gospel tracts, tapes and cd’s, special dvd’s and videos, etc.
Foreign Missions Right now we only help support one missionary family, the Trachts in Uganda, Africa. We need to add at least one missionary family a year or more as the Lord provides and do our part in reaching those in foreign lands.
Social Events We believe it is very important to provide a time and place where our people can just get together for times of fellowship and recreation. For the Youth we plan to have an every Friday evening activity. An annual Youth Camp for teens is very important to a great Youth Group. Friends can be invited to wholesome get togethers for volley ball, progressive dinners, seasonal activities, etc. Regular family nights at the church gym or a rented gym for family volleyball, etc. Couples retreats, valentine parties, etc.
Plus we aim to have Revival Meetings at our church at least twice a year and a Missions Conference annually.
